People out catching COVID, RSV, Pertussis, Measles, Norovirus, Flu, random weird ick. I'll be over here, not adding to woes or future health outcomes (because! Did you know? I've lived 3/4 of my life in Deep Red states (politically). Nothing is sadder than people who live in those states believing that moving away somehow removes the toxic conservative assholes from your life. It doesn't. It can actually be worse in Blue States because of the tolerance paradox ("I am in the tolerant majority, ergo, I must permit an openly loud Nazi to be a Nazi and let that shit happen in the workplace, at social events, family gatherings," etc.)

Stay where you are and fight the good fight. It's not better elsewhere-- just more expensive.*

Here in TX, it is very dry right now. We put out pans of water for the critters when it is like this. During the day, it's birds and squirrels who visit. Just now, when we took the dog out after dark, it was a little possum. Dog is very much a lover not a bully, did not even posture at the possum. Possum didn't play dead but stood completely still like "IGNORE ME. I AM NOT HERE." We ducked back in and turned off the porch light so it could hydrate in peace. We like being good neighbors ☺️
