I've commented on the "I Built My Dream Keyboard from Absolute Scratch video" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UXsD7nSfDY from @christianselig once before, but seem to have lost the links associated with it.
The main blog post that the video references is "Let's Design A Keyboard With Ergogen v4: Introduction" https://flatfootfox.com/ergogen-introduction/ which leads to a fascinating world of fully custom keyboards. OTOH, the only way I was going build one of these is put it on my "after retirement" to-do list.

@christianselig however, the keyboard that seems closest to what I think I want is the ZSA Moonlander https://www.zsa.io/moonlander , a wired, split, staggered, columnar keyboard. I have some reservations about their standard layouts, but those can be changed.
The only feature I want that is missing is an built-in USB hub, so the mouse can be plugged into the keyboard since they're always used together.

@mcrocker Moonlander is really nice, also check out the Voyager for something more minimal if that’s up your alley. I might have just gone with that if ZSA made wireless keyboards
