First #Factorio #SpaceAge space platform. I just realized that if I only have a single platform, then science will not be delivered back on Nauvis, so... research using space science will grind to a halt. Oops! No matter, let's go explore!

Following my first #Factorio #SpaceAge travel to the next planet, I discovered (re-discovered?) that one must absolutely, crucially, have defense mechanisms in place, otherwise larger asteroids WILL impact your space platform and damage / destroy it. This was previously discussed in https://factorio.com/blog/post/fff-381, but I had forgotten it!

Be warned: if the platform's core is destroyed, and you are ON the platform, you die with it...

I reloaded to continue my game.
