I had some imaging done a few months ago. It was entirely routine on one area of my body (I'm fine). They billed it as two separate procedures as if I left the hospital and came back, and because of that, my insurance would only pay a set amount (based on medicare costs?!?), and now my % is > $800. I was at the hospital for maybe 20 minutes in the middle of the day. The only person involved was an imaging tech, who I can't imagine makes more than $25/hr.
Why do I still live in this country?!?
