First time doing enemy AI "seriously". I ended up doing a behaviour tree system in C that seems like it's gonna work and I'm quite happy with.
I even did a JSON parser for https://github.com/pruttned/owl-bt which is not perfect but good enough and one of the only engine agnostic editors I found.
