Blades came in. Bow saw finished.

Clearly going to take a bit of time to get used to it!

Question: Why the long handled knobs for the blade holder? I've never seen anyone use them while sawing.

@satterle it's my understanding that the blade holder handles are for rotating the blade, such that the bow can be angled out of the way of the work while doing a very deep cut, for example.

@kennric @wedge That much I understand. What I don't get is why they are so long. In most instances I've seen, one is short and on is long, so I assume that the long one is used as a handle during sawing.

I made both of mine long because I want to flexibility of sawing on the push and on the pull.

@satterle @wedge ah, I see what you mean. I could see maybe getting a bit more control for very fine cuts using that as a handle (I'm thinking coping saws, where that would be the handle), but maybe it's a vestigial design flourish from a smaller saw....
