One thing I dislike in our western culture is that we value (political) views more than deeds.

@tuparev when his politics include participating in a rally for a wannabe fascist dictator, anything else pales in comparison. It’s not “strange”, it’s way, way beyond that.

My parents did suffer under the real fascists, and I did spend my time in a real communist prison. US is surrounded by 2 large lakes and never experience the real horrors of my parents and my generation. I will advise to turn down a bit the polemic, to soften the vocabulary, and to start trying to understand the other party. This polemics does disservice to the millions who ended in gulags or in nazi concentration camps. A bit of compassion and humanity on both sides could help.

@tuparev Have you seen Project 2025, which Trump's party, and now by extension Musk, hope to enact? We haven't experienced the horrors you mention yet and we're hoping to not do so.

I visited the US for the first time in 1991. It was a normal civilised country with friendly people. Now it's governed by a mono-party and big money, and the media's role is to spread hate and mistrust. This hate is on both sides. Intelligent folks should try to calm down (on both sides), shook hands and start a dialog. For a foreigner like me US now is a militant third world country.

I hope my words do not hurt you, but give you something to think about.
