Occasionally you run into an author who writes what are ostensibly children’s books, but are enjoyable and thought-provoking much more broadly.
Frances Hardinge is one of those. Deeplight is not my absolute favorite of her books - that remains A Face Like Glass - but it had many powerful moments. And this quote? This quote hits me again every time I read it:
“You will find out who you are when your choices test you. In the end, we are what we do and what we allow to be done.”
