Hi neighbors,
The ever-shifting social media landscape churns on, and the number of active Masto.NYC users changes along with it. We’ve had as many as 200 active users, but that number's fallen below 150 lately. We've set a goal to grow past 200 again, and keep it there!
We’d love to hear your ideas for getting the word out. What are some things we can do, or resources we should provide, to help grow our community?
And, you know: Tell your New York friends and family about Masto.NYC, too!

@warren I wonder if this is a Threads effect?
Some great Masto legal news feeds that I followed have gone almost silent except for an occasional toot, and I know it's because the posters have switched to Threads where I guess they expect it will be easier to gain and/or maintain an audience.
The only obvious Threads advantage I can see is that there's no dealing with instances. But I guess users can also sign in with their IG credentials? (I don't use IG so not sure about that.)

@roadskater It's almost neither here-nor-there, but I do like to suggest to Threads users who seem at least marginally interested in Mastodon that they turn on Fediverse sharing for their accounts; at least that way folks here can follow them there!
