Thinking about what it means in my world when people spontaneously give me money for my song recordings.

It's not that the money itself makes things possible that wouldn't be otherwise, because it's not currently big quantities.

It's the sense of people tangibly signalling "yes, we really like this, and if you make some more, we'll probably want to listen to that as well". Like a "vote of confidence"!

@SingleBass absolutely, I feel exactly the same. I will always make music because it's 'in me' and I love doing it (mostly! 😂) but the 'pat on the back' sensation when someone actually likes it enough to buy me 'tea and a slice' (well, a double espresso in my case) is genuinely priceless 👍🙂
