Just got an email from Amber Electric (that wholesale electricity company), trying to get me to churn my electricity provider back to them “just in time for summer”.
Ahahahaha no thanks. They advertised their average VIC rate is 17c/kwh but what they fail to tell you is what the peaks are – I don’t really feel like paying over $1/kwh at 6pm when we are trying to get dinner sorted (and is usually the most power we consume during the entire day). No point paying 17c or less per kwh during the day when you’re not using much power, and then get absolutely slammed with peak pricing when you need the power the most.

@georgeharito i think their business model is predicated on customers not being able to afford the electricity to go online and compare pricing
