Did you know that #JavaScript is trademarked and that #trademark is owned by #Oracle, even though they've had nothing substantial to do with the language... (checks notes) approximately ever?

Well, there's a petition to ask them to formally release the trademark, acknowledging the generic use of the term and enabling the community to use the name of the programming language freely: https://javascript.tm/
