I've been invited by the wonderful #WorkplaceGeeks #podcast to their reflection section - a regular place at the end of their podcasts to comment and reflect - for a paper by Karina Nielsen and Jo Yarker on the sustainable return to work for workers with #LongCovid

Must listen everyone!

I'm sharing lots of personal stories and my own journey on struggling with #LongCovid and my #ReturnToWork so this #workplaceGeeks #podcast is very dear to my heart.

It was slightly daunting to do - will I hurt my career by speaking up so clearly? Will I lose friends over clear warnings that #CovidIsNotOver ?

But in the end my sense of the need for advocacy prevailed.

Please share the podcast - with friends, family, colleagues, managers, HR people, organizations, CEOs

@kerstinsailer Thanks for sharing your story. I so agree with your thoughts on people not wearing masks and not comprehending why people are taking such insane health risks every day. It boggles my brain, too.

@eLearningTechie Thanks for the kind words and the support. I sometimes feel I'm going crazy, where actually it's everyone else behaving madly, right?

@kerstinsailer I honestly don't know what's gotten into everyone! I'm the only one in our massive openplan office who still rocks up religiously in an N95 every week. As a single income household I can't afford to get seriously sick - not that I'd want to even if I could afford it financially, ofc.

The whole world appears to have lost its collective marbles.

@kerstinsailer Thank you so much for sharing your personal story and insightful thoughts, Kerstin. I think it's one of the most comprehensive descriptions of the struggle of living with #LongCovid or chronic illness that I've heard in a long time. So many aspects of living Covid-conscious you described resonated with me.

In Aotearoa (NZ), we are still catching up with the levels of LC experienced around the world and awareness is low but we're catching up fast. :(

@kerstinsailer 😊

I've shared the episode with a friend who is doing their PhD in community-led research on the topic of women's health and they're going to include the episode recommendation in their next newsletter to their many contributors. I hope a lot more people will listen and share this with their friends and family so they understand their struggle better.
