Sad to see that Frankie Beverly has died at 77.

Back in the day, when vinyl was the thing & I'd never heard of the internet, I somehow picked up a single (maybe secondhand) of "Back in Stride". Didn't know the band but loved that track. "I'm just happy to see / You & me / Back in stride again".

@SingleBass Maze 😊 - did stage monitors for them (and him) way back in the 80s sometime at the Hammy (then) Odeon. It was all tight as a tight thing and in the pocket. A pleasure to do the sound. Sad to hear he's gone.

@SingleBass yeah, I was really lucky, the PA company I did most of my work for was called ESE Audio and they knew a few promotors that specialised in funky/souly/jazzy music... needless to say the bass players and drummers were always top notch!
