How to mute a #hashtag such as #uspol or #monsterdon in Mastodon using the web:

Go to Preferences -> Filters

Click on "Add new filter" button

Give it a title such as "Mute #ickytag"

Click on all the "Filter contexts" checkboxes

Select the "Hide completely" radio button

Put "#ickytag" into the "Keyword or phrase" field

Click on the "SAVE NEW FILTER" button

=> View attached media
