If #FedoraAtomic ends up adopting #bootc with release 42 I will consider it a good omen in favor of bootable containers

@alxlg The goal for Fedora Atomic Desktops is to eventually base on the Fedora bootc images. :)

I think it is getting a bit confusing currently: rpm-ostree, bootc and dnf?
Do you know what will take care of what or will possibly be deprecated?

To my understandig it's highly work-in-progress and it's possible that bootc will replace rpm-ostree, as a user you will be able to use dnf like in a traditional Fedora but maybe with one more step to make changes permanent after a reboot

So currently, on HeliumOS:
rpm-ostree works normally but search is broken
dnf allows search and maybe more, installs are broken
bootc allows upgrades, pinning deployments may be broken
ostree doesnt allow to pin a deployment
It stays interesting!
