And now also this,... if you have a Canva subscription watch out.

@carpetbomberz Yikes. Makes me wonder what's next for the Affinity design suite. That's been single-purchase, & I'm pretty sure Canva claimed it would stay that way when they bought Affinity earlier this year, but... 😱 👀

@capnpilot @capnpilot omg, 0MG, O-M-G. #TIL Canva bought out Serif.com (aka Affinity). You are 💯correct pilot
Canva did buy out Affinity back in MARCH, 2024.
And now I too am wondering, worrying. I just gave up Adobe Creative Suite 6.x when it stopped running on Mac OS X. Now I gotta give up Affinity Photo and Design?! If/When they jack up prices and make it subscription only I'm bailing out. Going to knuckled under and go GIMP/Inkscape no matter how much it hurts.

@carpetbomberz @capnpilot well, as a long time GIMP user lemme just say it's worth making the move.

@nomadwarmachine @carpetbomberz I've played around with GIMP some! Been a minute, though. I remember it being tough to get oriented, but good for the low-level stuff I wanted to do (goofy image edits to send to friends, mostly). Any tips/resources I can check out to level up my skills?
