Mastodon database sizes are like snowballs rolling down an infinite mountain.
Is it better to preserve our local instance archive of the Fediverse as we see it?
Or to prune that data and hope the original instances stay available?

@james I voted prune. If I wanted things to remain permanent I’d put effort into hosting it myself (since that seems like the ONLY way of true permanence). I’d be fine to expire things here after a year.
