Just finished "When you had power" by @susankayequinn - damn, that's good #solarpunk ! 🙏 I'm elated 😀

Gripping story, loveable characters, inspiring technology (and the hard #scifi background to make it come to life), cozy community, great worldbuilding...

The best part: It's part of a Quadrilogy! Already ordered part 2 - hope the german translation is good as well! (the first one is free as an ebook btw: https://susankayequinn.com/series/nothing-is-promised)

I finally finished the "nothing is promised" quadrilogy by @susankayequinn - and I loved it! It's found its way into my #solarpunk top 5 (among walkaway, lost cause, half-built garden and the like).

Not much I can add to the post above without spoiling story content, but I urge you to read it!

Oh! I only now realised that you're the author of the Royals of Dharia trilogy! I always thought your name sounded somehow familiar to me 😊

I read the first book for free (thank you) and immediately bought the other ones. In my personal rating the trilogy got 4/5 stars. I remember how I was confused and thought the order was mixed up because it started with the third daughter 🫣

The books didn't fulfill my expectations in a very good way 🙂

@lex @susankayequinn Did you find a way to get it as a DRM-free eBook? That's what stopped me a while back when I wanted to check out some of her books.

Other than ordering a printed copy, there doesn't seem to be a way to purchase the books that is not abusive towards the customer.

@ticho @lex It’s not abusive to customers to ask them to pay for books with DRM to keep pirating and AI scraping to a minimum. If you don’t want to pay for print, libraries are an option. I price my books very reasonably, often the first one is free, and yet EVEN WITH FREE BOOKS, people complain that they can’t have the books DRM free and easy for pirating and scraping. Those people should not read my works.
