Toot

We have some time between projects, so I've been working through Erik Kennedy's Learn UI Design course. I've always had a block when it comes to design, I think partly related to being colour-blind. I'd like to get to the stage where I can confidently take on the front end aspects of a project.

Today I did the homework for the "consistency" unit, to design a login page for an imaginary mobile app/site focusing mostly on keeping UI elements consistent.

Feels weird to post this and to get out of my comfort zone, but it's great to be learning something new. Critique very welcome, but not expected 🙂

@chrislowis looks great! Can I ask why you used uppercase for the forgot password link?

@tosbourn that's a great question. In my mind, I was trying to be consistent with the field headers, but I think it'd be better to be consistent with the other text (e.g. the terms and conditions). Thank you!

@chrislowis I was genuinely curious because my UX/UI skills are nonexistent, thought maybe it was some nugget you’d picked up!

@tosbourn the lesson was really interesting. The main takeaway was to only introduce an inconsistency when it solves a problem. Otherwise, copy-paste gets you quite far!

@chrislowis looks great! btw as a front-end developer I really appreciate people with different backgrounds are involved in the development and discussions around accessibility and design, there are many things we often don't think about
