We like to keep things as simple, standards based and accessible as possible. A Rails monolith with a sprinkling of Hotwire is our favourite tech stack, but we have experience with many other frameworks (e.g. React, Svelte). We can also help with many application-adjacent tasks too such as data engineering/pipeline development, improving test suites, upgrading dependencies, fixing slow/broken CI builds, devops etc.

Hey folks! We (@freerange) have some availability at the moment. Do you need help building software?

Our ideal project involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary team on a creative, web-based application. We like small-"a" agile approaches and can help you get better at working in that way. We also enjoy pairing and mentoring. Some of our previous clients have used us to move quickly on early-stage projects while hiring a team of in-house developers around us.

Feels weird to post this and to get out of my comfort zone, but it's great to be learning something new. Critique very welcome, but not expected 🙂

We have some time between projects, so I've been working through Erik Kennedy's Learn UI Design course. I've always had a block when it comes to design, I think partly related to being colour-blind. I'd like to get to the stage where I can confidently take on the front end aspects of a project.

Today I did the homework for the "consistency" unit, to design a login page for an imaginary mobile app/site focusing mostly on keeping UI elements consistent.
