Does providing a PDF or SVG for your single size app icons in asset catalog provide any benefit over PNG? Does it resize better for generating the other sizes?

@jordanhipwell they’re meant to scale since they’re resolution independent. This is why Apple is also moving to SF Symbols are they too scale.
It’s less work to produce as well as you just produce one asset and not one for every resolution @2, @3, etc.
However, not that you’d run into on iPhone but their scaling would probably look awful on 1x displays which are still supported on Mac.
With PNGs, at least you can design them to be pixel aligned for extra sharpness.

@jordanhipwell the same would apply. I’d be careful that your icon looks sharp in scenarios where it is very small like in Settings app. Hopefully your icon isn’t too detailed.
