Although those pictures are neat, I wanted to try again and get a properly mixed and melted ingot of alloy.
Suspecting the oxidation of the powder particles as the reason for the improper melting I wanted to try bigger pieces of metals.
So this time I used manganese flakes, aluminium drops and copper wire. And for good measure some sodium chloride as a flux and further protection from oxygen.
Bake at 1400°C for 60min and enjoy!

@stripey That would be a possibility, but it's expensive. I'll do more tests with flux first.
