If the #ISS is "international" why does it have a US amateur callsign? Shouldn't it be 4U1ISS or something non-FCC?

Maybe not strictly that, but they have multiple calls to use

@VE2UWY If I recall well, during the Mir era, each cosmonaut / astronaut / spationaute had a callsign provided by his country of origin (R0MIR, FX0STB, …). Looks like it's pretty much the same for ISS : RS0ISS, NA1SS, DP0ISS, OR4ISS, IR0ISS.
