How keeping an #aquarium is like software development:

• It looks pretty

• Other people make theirs look prettier

• It’s a complex system with many invisible variables

• The users can’t express their needs or pains

• It degenerates over time and requires constant maintenance

• Every time you try to clean it up, you make a mess

• It fails in different ways at different scales

• Parasites and viruses ruin everything
