If I was running for a VP or any other electable position for me the best part would be that I can do my best for my people, for my country.

Perhaps that’s why I am not a politician…

@tuparev Come on man, you’re being intentionally obtuse. You know what he’s referring to.

As someone who would vote for Jill if I was a US citizen I think I cannot be accused in strange political sympathies. But the DNC duo is a joke, really!

@tuparev Everything is a joke in American politics. Even Jill and her party. But the dems, even with their far-right economic policies (like defending my health should be source of profit for a predatory company) are the only viable alternative to fascism on these elections, and coming from a country with a fascist history, that’s good enough for me if I was American. Although I would have to cover my nose to vote on the only party on earth who deployed nukes on foreign (and domestic) citizens.

@arroz

Then define fascism. Obviously we have different definitions.

@tuparev I tend to use Umberto Eco definition of fascism: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Definitions_of_fascism (search on the page, can’t get the anchor on the iPhone)

Aside, arguably, from item 9 (he tends to say he wants to end wars but he also considered using nukes as a viable option during his term), all the other items apply to him without question.

The Luis Britto García definition also applies pretty well, especially item 1 (it starts with trump companies themselves).

@arroz

Interesting, I did not know this definition. Well, most of the items are vague and not unique for the fascism. And because they are vague, you can assign them to both candidates. And if you count, DNC gets a bit more matches. I think I need to write a blogpost on this. Perhaps my experience from the communist times in Bulgaria will make some sense.

@tuparev Although I agree the US government is permanently operating on some level of fascism, considering the Democratic Party checks more items makes no sense. Machismo, really? Fear of difference, when they stand for diversity all the way? Rejection of modernism when they want to pursue clean energy and trump wants coal? Selective populism? Come on. Again, I’m not saying I like the dems. But there is a difference, especially right now.

@arroz

You are giving me ideas for many blogposts.

The best one - machismo. Just listen the Biden's press conference where he promises to “get rid" of Nord Stream. It is a fantastic example of transcontinental, international machismo and bulling. On a mega large scale. And how about Biden allowing oil drilling in the north? How about the mountain top removal of Obama? I really do not care about promises, but deeds.

Thanks for giving me ideas for several posts and discussions!

@tuparev Wait what? You’re confusing machismo with something else. Machismo is considering men inherently superior to women, and looking at woman purely as reproductive devices (see JD Vance speeches for a good example) or sexualized beings (“grab’em by the pussy” not machismo enough?).

Yes, the wars and political interference the US wage around the world are part of the reason I consider the US to permanently operate at some level of fascism. But that is not machismo in any way.

@arroz

Machismo is a subset of bulling. A form of it. Bulling has many faces, one of them is machismo. But the same brain chemistry plays a role in all its forms. Psychology 101…

@arroz

Remember the protests in Denver? They started with BLM, and then moved to defund police and STEM. And the dem major was applauding and the WH was a silent bystander. And look what happens at the Unis - mediocracy with rainbow flags dominates meritocracy. With the full support of DNC. Do you know that Russia (1/2 of US population) is producing 2x times more STEM PhDs?
