Our older Siamese seems to having a little difficulty making it to her food dish. She’s an anxious eater, so she gets small meals about a dozen times a day—any more than her gullet can hold and she’ll barf. She’s also got hip dysplasia and arthritis, so it’s hard for her to traipse downstairs. She might be hard of hearing now too.

All this is to say that I moved her food dishes closer to the place she likes to nap upstairs. She’s not sure she’s quite happy with the move, but I’m at least more sure she can hear the dish dispensing as well as it being easier for her to get to. If only she could self-feed, but alas.

@binsk we get our cat monthly Solensia injections which seems to help with his severe arthritis (or whatever is ailing his legs). I’ve had cats in the past that had vitamin K deficiency that made it tough for them to walk. I am pulling for your fur friend.

@jerry thanks for the pointer, forwarding to my wife. it's really hard to tell with the cat. we've done the x-rays, and she (very unhappily) gets checked for range of motion annually. we had tried gabapentin but it definitely made her wobbly on the stairs and was a no-go. appreciate the well-wishes, and hoping your suggestion might be a viable possibility.

@binsk every experience I’ve had with gabopentin, whether human, canine, or feline, has been a bad one.
