Finally after some fiddling, I got port forwarding on my modem working, turns out: the ISP blocks ports 22-23 (SSH and Telnet respectively). I may get a BBS running one of these days.
P.S. The ISP might be blocking more ports, I haven't checked yet.
Edit: Just changing the ports to 2323 for example works, even if it's a slight inconvenience

Thought about hosting weird services like a Hotline server, or maybe even Gemini capsule. The possibilities are endless.
