Thanks to all the people boosting my search yesterday (Tue,25June),

turned out it was actually altered guitar played by Tom Kerstens,

the piece was 'The Third Fire ' by NZ

born composer John Metcalf.

Here's the whole piece ( on this site the next piece is by another one of my favourite guitar players, Michael Hedges from the good old days of Windham Hill music.

Ahhh... Windham Hill. I have a modest collection of CDs including 'Aerial Boundaries'. It's always been magical music.
