@Remmyzilla The situation sucks.
Even as someone who wants to see more people on desktop Linux, I get that it's best for folks to get to try things on their own timing. Having a deadline from Microsoft making matters more urgent isn't ideal. I hope that this upcoming year gives time for even more stuff to be polished.
(Who knows, maybe Valve will have released the Deckard headset by then, putting even more pressure on developers to care about Linux. It's certainly better than it was a year ago, but still rough spots.)

@digitalfox yeah the one thing I kinda care about is vr and that's the main thing that doesn't seem to really work well at all yet. I'll keep an ear out to an extent but I dunno.
Mostly I just don't like computers or having to do anything with computers or thinking about computers doing things but I have one niche use case that requires me to have a basic mocidum of care.

@Remmyzilla Ah, yep… With the right VR hardware, on a good day with some experimental software, I'm able to experience pretty much everything. But then EasyAntiCheat, Proton, SteamVR, or VRChat - or even Kubuntu - will have an update and you might be out of commission for days to weeks.
It's not something I'd recommend to anyone not willing to spend a bunch of time adjusting plans and troubleshooting. You wanting to not have to think about it any more than necessary makes sense; I don't blame you.
