I recently upgraded to a ThinkPad T14 Gen 4 from a T14s Gen 1 as my work laptop. Yeah, the Ethernet port is back (!), but I can constantly hear the fan even when the laptop is almost idle. It's not as bad as the T23, T410 or R61 (aka the "airplane landing" sound), but still worse compared to the X220 or my previous T14s. Noise is obviously something laptop manufacturers aren't able to beat in 2024. Fascinating. #fan #thinkpad #noise

@trilobyte Some of manufacturers. My #tuxedo with AMD is fine.

@jackc That's true, thanks! That is what I had in my mind :) Actually I have (or had) such a devices in the past. Best example is the the Starlite laptop of my wife... Well, there is no fan present at all :)
