One thing I wish Mastodon had was a way to annotate your mutes and blocks. You can add a personal, private note for people you follow; you should be able to do the same for blocks and mutes!

For example, I may not remember, months or years from now, that the reason I blocked a seemingly random account was because of their whataboutism in justification of genocide.

@garfieldairlines Cool that it works there! It's too bad that getting useful functionality on Mastodon so often seems to require leaving Mastodon for another platform.

@alopex@furries.club to be honest I found Mastodon quite... Unattractive. It's only when I found out that there were alternatives that I found the entire fedi-thing more interesting.

@garfieldairlines For me, I find it generally functional, but there are so many obvious opportunities for improvement, and yet the simplest things take so long to be implemented, so I've largely given up on hope for change and just resort to complaining. 😁

The problem with moving away from Mastodon is losing your history.

I wonder if there were a way to run different servers on the same URL and provide a migration mechanism for users to individually opt to move between them.

@alopex@furries.club I've seen that somewheeeeere but I don't remember who does that. As for export, it is doable to migrate your posts (I did it).

@Suran@toot.cat @alopex@furries.club I found Mastodon pretty... meh as a user (and a sysadmin, what the hell is this entire Ruby hell to install ?!).

Digging more and watching that entire fedidrama where you end up making a graph who blocked who made it even less fun... which is why I made my own server, mostly.
