@athinkinganarchist That reminded me of back when Trump was POTUS and many just focused on removing Trump from that post, how what would have happened then (in most scenarios) would have been that Pence would have gotten the post instead.
I kept pointing out to people then that at least with Trump it is obvious to many that they must resist the tangerine hate-clown so mass-resistance did (somewhat) occur, whilst if it would have been Pence instead then probably drastically fewer people would have at least as soon realized that resistance was essential while actually probably the policies imposed by Pence would have been worse and more methodically pushed through since Pence has a firm horrible ideology as opposed to Trump seemingly having no ideology except maximizing personal power and self-perceived prestige.
Therefore a successful removal of Trump from power through impeachment, especially if early, could have been even worse than what we ended up with.
The danger of politicians who ensure they are perceived as just another politician like all the others, compared to someone making themself perceived as the obvious threat that they are, even if the threat of the former is the same or worse.
