Satisfied with my 0.8mm nozzle, I advance to the physical limit, and fabricate a 1.75mm nozzle. #3dPrinting #nozzle

@rubinjoni
You got the retraction tuned properly?

@Mawoka I was just cracking a joke... I'm not perfectly happy with my cheap 0.8mm brass nozzle from AliExpress, running on Prusa Mk3S+ and printing PETG (handmade by Josef himself) - it strings and makes booger artifacts. Large prints without much detail are done fast and are very sturdy, but they require some manual touching up. I got some really nice PLA prints, but they were designed with a large nozzle in mind.

@rubinjoni
Hmmm... I am actually satisfied with my printer and a 0.8mm nozzle, but getting the retraction tuned is a nightmare, so the surfaces have sometimes holes in them. Artifacts is something I haven't experienced with this nozzle. Maybe try to get PLA working fine before going with petg.

@Mawoka I consider it "fit for purpose" - if it's a large print, I don't mind a bit of drilling/cutting/sanding... Here's more pics:
