Well, there are two cases in async programming: coloured functions and actor/green thread
Coloured function refers to rules existing between what can be called and who can call an async function. Each language has its own colour rules.
If you want to learn a language with no such colour rules, learn Go or Elixir for a week or two and you will have the simplest model down. As for colour rules, I have no more advice than get a linter that will yell at you.
