I know that the federated nature of #Mastodon means I can follow accounts on other instances from my home instance (assuming they're not de-listed) without having to create accounts on those instances.
As it stands, my only Mastodon account (on this instance) does not actually follow a single account, anywhere. The feed I scroll through for new content, consists of the live feed from the server I'm on. I'm hesitant to actually follow any individual account, especially on a different instance.
I could use some advice from anyone who happens to read this: How do you configure Mastodon to create one unified feed of followed accounts and the live feed from the local instance? Is that even possible? I don't anticipate following such large numbers of individual accounts that I'd have a continually active "follows" feed, so if I could inject those into the "local instance" live feed I already browse, that would be ideal.

I was about to make a post expressing my feelings, but I decided to scroll back on my old posts and found this one from February that says basically the same thing.
It would be neat to know if it's possible to create a unified "following list + local instance" feed, but if not, then two distinct feeds might be the only choice.
