This is why I shouldn't be using 0,3mm layer height for prototypes (or most of the things).

Printing at 0.3mm may save 50% of time but it's a false economy, overhangs that come out decently at 0.2mm are just awful at 0.3mm; and the part itself is so brittle it falls apart by just holding it.

See description of each part for details.

Looking at the photos, it seemed that printed parts with 1 perimeter layer instead of 2.

No wonder they are more brittle.

Here's a completely unfair comparison to a much bulkier shape at 0.2mm with 2 layers, that took an actual effort to punch through.

I do need 2 top layers when printing at 0.2mm.

Everything here is printed with eSun PETG.

I've been prototyping a few things, so I've been interesting in tuning the settings so in the end I'd get something that uses least amount of plastic while the part doesn't fall apart immediately.

I should probably use PLA for this, but PETG would be final material, and gray color that I only have in PETG looks good on the photos.

@avolkov you don’t need any top or bottom layers!

Works just fine without it (and I don’t think they add much strength, depending on the part.

@linux_mclinuxface

Good point. Top layer is theft!

I haven't really thought of that for some reason, I'll try it on the designs that don't have any fasteners coming through the layers.
