Deep dive into #QGIS raster tools today! 🌍 I'm impressed with the Zonal histogram tool. It smartly appends fields with counts of each unique raster value found within defined polygon zones.📊 Such a useful feature! Still, I'm wondering why there isn't a direct counterpart for vector features. Anyone else noticed this? Would love to hear your thoughts or workarounds! #GISchat

Example for the postcodes in #Duisburg and the corine land cover raster data.

@alexnetogeo @schluff

Using the 'Join attributes by location (summary)' function provides a reliable method in #QGIS to determine the number of shops per city district. However, a significant enhancement would be the ability to filter by category. This would allow users to ascertain the count of shops based on their type—be it a bakery, supermarket, etc.—within each city district.

@alexnetogeo @schluff

One can hack around it by... joining the city district information to the shops, then use 'Statistics by categories', and joining it back to the city districts...

@calli @schluff not an hack, just an extra step. The #QGIS way ot to have generic tools that can be chained together, instead of very specific tools that solve a single problem
