Has anyone experience in using a #llm to auto review your own commits?

Something that reads my commit, then cross references the rest of the project and suggests things I might have forgotten or could improve? I don't want it to write code for me, it should just point out possible mistakes for me to check...

Ich habe dann mal jetzt auch "meinen" Abgeordneten aus CDU und Linke geschrieben. Ob es was nützt? Man weiß es nicht. Ich hab mir jedenfalls Mühe gegeben und dem vorformulierten Text noch einen persönlichen Appell vorangestellt...

So, I wrote a Mastodon to GotoSocial importer. Now would be a good time to tell me why this is a terrible idea.

Uhm @gotosocial I am poking at your sqlite database, because I am trying to import data. And I just noticed that you write the string "null" into status columns when you mean NULL?

The top row is inserted when talking via client to gotosocial, the rows below are my direct database imports.

Or is this because the client I used transferred something weird? I am using toot on the command line for testing. But it then seems weird you would simply trust the client data???

My wife is away for the weekend and now @tarly is super focused on electric cars during our walks. Because it's the sound he hears when one of us comes home 😭

Ah great. Got some snail mail today from a company named "Copytrack". They want me to pay for the usage of some image.

Only that this image is hosted on some rando's @dokuwiki installation, which I have nothing to do with.

A company specialized in tracking down copyright violations is too stupid to differentiate between software author credits and domain owners... I wonder how often Automattic gets those kind of letters for random Wordpress installs...

When you decide to submit a pull request to an #OpenSource project, be prepared to work on it further to get it into a mergable state.

Just dumping your "works for me" hack on the author and then ghosting, is just fucking rude.

Is there really no simple #ElasticSearch client ala #adminer or #phpmyadmin that lets me poke at a ElasticSearch index to just verify what's there? I seriously have no idea what 95% of what #Kibana even does. And yes I know I can poke around using curl, but I would really appreciate a very simple web interface.

I just finished "Chants of Sennaar". It's probably the best game I played in 2024. Beautiful puzzle game with a concept I have never seen before. Absolutely unique. If you like adventures, puzzles and language nerdery, get this game.

It's currently 35% off. Plays perfectly fine on Linux with Proton. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1931770/Chants_of_Sennaar/

[#]linux question. Is there a simple deployment tool that can do the following (for a single server and single project):

  1. log in to a remote ssh server as user A

  1. copy files from local to remote as user B (user A has sudo permissions)

  1. copying should ideally using rsync (or similar) to only copy changes

  1. run a command on the remote server as root (again via sudo)

  1. everything should run through a single SSH connection, not multiple ones

  1. all controlled via a simple config file?

  1. no daemon (other than ssh) on the remote server

I feel like this should be possible, but I can't find anything simple (I don't want to learn a full blown multi-server deployment system)
