CSS wonks in my TL: I know you can make "global" CSS variables by defining them in a :root, but can you make-and-then-access namespaced variables?

I'm getting a lot of colours and I want to not have to prefix them with --colour at each definition, but be able to access them with something like var(--colour.body-text) (admitting that that particular syntax is not real, but something that feels like that).

Ladt bought, I learned one of the wolves I met years ago at CWWC recently died. A long life, not as free as a wolf might like, but he wasn’t one expected to be able to survive at all in the wild.

I’ll raise a glass to him. I remember his breath, his coat, his joy.

Two things I still seek in Toronto: really good bagels, and really good croissants. We didn’t have good bagels in Vancouver, but we did have great croissants next door. I have to believe we can find good versions here.

I am amazed at how Meta’s core offering (via FB, especially, but also via Instagram. Perhaps some day via WhatsApp, but not yet) is “feel like you’re staying in touch without actually staying in touch.” It’s horrifying, really, to this person who loves being a good correspondent.
