I looked at some #running intervals in my last marathon training block to check my running effectiveness (RE).
RE is defined as your ability to convert power (W/kg) into speed (m/s). The resulting unit is kg/N.
RE = m/s ÷ W/kg
Steve Palladino categorizes RE as follows:
Below average: ≤ 99%
Average: 99-101%
Above average: 101-105%
Likely elite: ≥ 105%
At 98.8% RE, it turns out I'm "below average". I guess I have strength training on the radar.

I've been curious if I could couple Jack Daniels' VDOT system with running power, such as Stryd to predict races.
Got it.
VDOT here is anchored on your CP in W/kg instead of a recent race result. This does mean it'll vary slightly from the official VDOT tables. But the difference is insignificant.
Why does this matter? It doesn't. Not really. If you're using one or other training paradigms, you're probably doing just fine.
I just wanted to see if I could.

Being a Reddit sub mod is a thankless position ripe for abuse by the readers. I've been called so many different names the past couple of weeks, it's almost like Reddit mods are just Rorschach blots of things you claim to hate.

Woah. This is interesting.
Protein cryptography:
"Unlike traditional digital encryption, this approach relies on the inherent diversity, complexity, and replication resistance of biological macromolecules, making them highly secure against duplication or tampering... Proteins are (currently) unclonable. There is no existing method of cloning a protein that is provided in a small amount."

Hard pass. I will not use #passkeys and will tell my friends and family to do the same.
So long as attestation part of the WebAuthn spec, it allows companies to lock consumers into using specific passkey managers.
It's exactly like streaming subscriptions. Attestation sets up the dystopia of a paid 1Password account for your email passkey, a paid LastPass account for your utility account passkey, a paid Bitwarden account for your health insurance, etc.
