C'est un vrai film politique en cela qu'il tente (tout en disant que c'est vain) d'agir sur le réel, un réel qui prend un voie très inquiétante.

Apparemment le président a tellement déconné qu'il a réussi à allier contre lui les états les plus opposés imaginables (Californie et Texas).

Voilà ce que ça pourrait être la guerre civil, ce n'est pas beau du tout, c'est dégueulasse même (l'apprentie en dégueule tripes et boyaux), ne faite pas ça ! Et en même temps, dès le début du film, son héroïne, photographe de guerre nous explique :

J'attendais un acte politique : Au étatsuniens en période électorale, voilà ce que ça pourrait être la guerre civile, ne faites pas ça ! Et c'est un acte politique. On ne sait pas trop ce qui se passe (inimaginable dans un film d'aujourd'hui), ce qui est résumé par le dialogue dans la scènes du duel de snipers : "Vous ne savez pas dans quel camps ils se battent ? On essai de nous tuer ; On essai de les tuer". ⬇️

@mdiplo propose en accès libre un papier (2008) qui rappel que l'histoire dans la Bible (du peuple juif et donc des chrétiens et des musulmans) et celle du roman Historique n'est pas celle des historiens.
