Dear politicians,
Many of you are happy to speculate about our motives for wishing to see justice for the thousands of girls who were raped and abused for decades. You have decided that we must be far right for doing so and must be labelled accordingly. Please remember that we too can speculate about your motives for wishing to defend such men and protect their feelings. Just be aware that we won't be using the slur far right. Most of us happen to believe that condemning rape is not a left/right issue. Condemning rape should come naturally to everyone, unless of course it is a practice you think can be justified. Perhaps it is because you feel that the rapists are the real victims here. Why else would the statement rape is wrong need a caveat? And it will be the reasons which you use to justify your refusal to condemn rapists that will inform the words we choose to describe you. I won't repeat them here, but I am using them in my head.
I hope you find this acceptable, or is it only your class that gets to name call and speculate?

Because nothing just happens. Everything is controlled.
Why now about the rape gangs? To what end?
The media have (with a few notable exceptions) not really wanted to pay more than lip service to it. So why are they (being paid to be) concerned now? Nobody believes that they suddenly care about white working-class girls, not even for one second.
Are we about to see a specific fall guy? Will it be a token to appease the mob, or has someone high up outlived their usefulness and is about to be thrown to the wolves?
Or is it to bring in a new piece of legislation? "Women will have their right to leave the home restricted to be kept safe. Women must wear the full burka so men won't rape them. We'll call it the Rotherham Bill."
Or is it to manufacture a massive distraction to deflect from the other terrible legislation they're about to inflict on us? Eve's Law, Martyn's Law, Assisted Dying, Digital Currency, Facial Recognition, Blasphemy laws etc etc. If they want a distraction, another pandemic might still be too soon (they're still floating avian flu), climate change is not as big a draw as it was, and drag queens telling us how tough life is just won't cut it.
