Chaga (Polypore incrusté) - Inonotus obliquus

Le Polypore incrusté est un champignon lignivore parasite des Bétulacées (bouleaux) et des Fagacée (hêtres). La forme stérile, appelée Chaga, est un chancre protubérant et pérenne coloré de brun foncé à brun rougeâtre ou prend l'apparence du charbon de bois brûlé.

La roue du moulin Sainte-Marie

Dans la vallée de La Risle, coule le Torrent, un ruisseau beaucoup moins tumultueux que son nom semble l'indiquer, qui faisait autrefois tourner six moulins. Parmi eux, le moulin de Sainte-Marie, daté de 1872 ; un moulin à blé, composé de cinq bâtiments présentant de vastes espaces.

L'Hypholome en touffes, très commun, se rencontre du printemps à l'automne, et même l'hiver si les conditions climatiques sont douces. La forte amertume de l'Hypholome en touffes dissuade de toute tentative de consommation, avantage indéniable pour la santé humaine, car il est fortement toxique.

Cette espèce (dont les reines mesurent 20 mm et les ouvrières de 7 à 14 mm) est une des plus grandes d’Europe. Largement répandue, sauf dans la région méditerranéenne, elle vit souvent dans les forêts de résineux.

Gelée d'étoiles - Nostoc spec. pruniforme

Espèce pionnière, le Nostoc se développe sur des milieux pauvres, plutôt basiques, où il ne trouve pas de concurrence. Roches, trottoirs, graviers, mais aussi zones végétalisées affaiblies, avec des plantes peu vigoureuses, l'accueillent préférentiellement. Autonome pour s'alimenter en carbone grâce à ses pigments chlorophylliens, il pallie au manque d'azote de ses substrats précaires par la transformation de l'azote atmosphérique en ammonium ou nitrates, au sein de quelques cellules spécialisées.

D’abord de forme d’un gland ou d’un œuf, s’ouvre progressivement en se liquéfiant et en se sillonnant au bord. Jeune, il est d’une belle couleur ocre jaune ou ocre fauve, plus foncé, plus roux au sommet qu’au bord où il est parfois blanchâtre, et noircit en vieillissant.
