Obviously yes, people who can leave Portland, do actually leave Portland, and yes, it is because it's too expensive to live there given the lower than average wages against that cost of living.

But the taxes aren't part of it. Pretty sure my taxes in Oklahoma are higher. Landlords and Trimet are outright gouging people.

Air travel is an environmental disaster in its own right, so moving on to the other part. With the time it takes to go from anywhere in Portland to the A and B (regional and bushplane terminals) gates, you could have gone to Portland Union, grabbed a Cascades train and be past Albany...
