I miss Trader Joe's vegan chili. I got that by accident once and it turned out to be really good, but apparently I'm the only one who thought so

@BalooUriza I hate it when that happens. I think some people are actively turned off by the term "vegan" because of that one really annoying person they know, when plenty of wonderful dishes are normally or easily can be vegan without making a big deal about it.

@redrummy TBF, that was me, I initially purchased it by accident. Well, that and vegan anything in the 1990s and 2000s tended to be attempts at tastyfakes (like the Gardenburger, which tasted like beef...if your only frame of reference for what ground beef tastes like is by having a burger on fourth lunch that was sitting in the bottom of the school cafeteria steam bin since before first lunch).

@BalooUriza Yeah, (and I'm not vegan, but lean vegetarian) I'm not a big fan of things trying too hard to mimic meat, and they tend to be expensive. (Price of meat artificially low due to US gov subsidies of feed crops notwithstanding) I'd rather just have food celebrating what it is.
