My DSA chapter (StL) recently tweeted a farewell "Thank You" to our comrade Cori Bush.

The chapter doesn't have a Mastodon account, so I'm tooting this screenshot of the tweet myself.

Cori was among the few genuinely progressive members of Congress. She was targeted for her stance against the genocide in Gaza.

A massive Dark Money smear campaign that never mentioned Palestine funded her primary opponent - a former Republican.

I'm exhausted but happy after my DSA chapter's monthly meeting tonight: It was yuuuge! (So many new members since Nov. 5!) I'm on the hospitality committee; we do the food. (Yep, we feed our comrades when we gather.) Tonight we honored the heroic resistance in #Gaza by preparing a Palestinian meal. (So much chopping of vegetables - & cleanup!) My 1st experience of Freekah won't be my last!

But contentment falls as I recall the #Zionist #Genocide of the #rightful #citizens of #Palestine.

Just watched the film "The Occupation of the American Mind," a devastating critique of the power of Israeli propaganda in the US, the utter wreckage that is US corporate media, and the public blindness they induce.

Holy sh*t - I am gobsmacked that this film came out in 2016!!!

Prof Steve Keen recommended this short climate film to the seminars. So glad he did - I echo his recommendation! Strong shared themes with the climate elements of his critique of mainstream econ, incl. feedback loops, tipping points, and complex systems. And yet, accessible! An important film.

My daughter gave me a copy of Percival Everett's latest (James: A Novel) for my birthday. It's a retelling of Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn from the point of view of, Huck's companion Jim. I can't endorse it highly enough! Powerful story! No punches pulled about how an enslaved person feels about it. Should be required reading afaic,
