Die #AUdS Tagung hat ein sehr dichtes Programm dieses Jahr! https://buergerbeteiligung.sachsen.de/portal/sakd/beteiligung/themen/1049251 Vielleicht schaffe ich es diesmal online teilzunehmen. Es gibt auch mehrere Beiträge von österreichischen Kolleg:innen. #digipres

I really appreciate the podcast Tech Won’t Save Us hosted by @parismarx. I’ve found it really useful for understanding more about the politics behind a lot of tech figures (yes, including several with truly fascist world views), as well as the implications of data centers, and more.

I got terrible news about two people I’d been friends with in my late teens and early twenties. Both have always struggled. One attempted suicide when we were both 21 years old. I still think about a letter I wrote him then. I told him I knew things were difficult in ways I couldn’t understand, but that I was grateful for every day he remained with us on this earth. I still think this way, & I’m grateful for all of you for every day we share & you’re here!

Things feel incredibly heavy now. The rise of authoritarianism in so many places, climate crisis, wars, an extreme lack of empathy and scapegoating marginalized groups. All the more reason to take care of yourselves & check in on your friends. In the US there’s 988 and lots of local and community-specific resources. In Austria there’s 142. However dark things seem, there are people for whom the world is a better place with you in it!
