Originally a long thick wooden board, which I cut. After laser engraving go-board lines, polishing and lacquering, I assembled the halves with two hinges.
Those made for good feet in the middle, but still missing were spacers of the same height at the corners, so I designed some to #3dprint.
The bowls are JeremyToutain's #freecad project I could adjust the parameters on and print in #Extrudr WOOD.
Printing the stones took quite a while.

Over holidays before 38C3, my mother and her friend invited me to play cards. The game involved light pattern matching. So devious me, wanting to challenge their brains, enthused about another game with very simple rules where pattern matching is a thing and got them interested 😁
Go is after all, very easy to learn, but hard to master.
Not wanting them to raise questioning eyebrows, when shopping for go sets, I told them I would build them a set as a present. 😃

Isn't it kind of weird, how our (overabundant) society teaches us to restrain our base impulses to just grab or do what we want in an uncontrolled moment, on threat of harm. (be it jail for theft, obesity for overeating, disdain for abusing common goods, etc)
And how so many people still admire those, that (can) ignore these lessons and continue to follow their base instincts to the detriment of all.

Somewhen 2 ? years ago, my podcast app #podcastaddicct began to aggressively nudge the user to exempt it from Androids powersaving for "technical reasons". I never allowed that and questioned the technical necessity of that online. Afair, the dev replied along the lines of "I have strong reasons for this" that did not seem to be technical in nature after all. So I switched to AntennaPod.
Today I found PodcastAddict in a list of Location / #Privacy Data Selling Apps. 😑

Why do people tend to believe powerful peoples lies?
Those close to them, often do not.
Is it, because we are only ever shown a small part of these persons and missing the wholesome picture you get when you truly interact with a person over several days?
Does that lack of information allow people to fill in the blanks, with what they would like to see in a person with power over them?
