One of the quietly terrifying and insidious things to watch out for in the coming months is AI replacing boards and groups of humans that gave cyber security advisories.
With the removal of CISA, CSRB, and other advisory boards that were made up of people and with the massive investment of non-human algorithms as a replacement for people that know what they're doing amongst the administration, I'm certain that are established feeds of cyber security intelligence is going to get a lot dumber.

How are we (security folk) supposed to defend against threats that are being installed by the service providers? By the manufacturer themselves? 😮💨

I'd also argue that we're not subject to their arbitration clause since we're not a customer, but I don't know that, I'm just doing the data security part.

Annnnd I get to spend the end of the work day combing through the ToS and Privacy policies of an AI meeting analyzer service one of our customers are using in meetings to hand to our executives to go slap them around a bit to get them to Stop Doing That
It's interesting because while we're not the customer of the service, it's our proprietary and trade secret data and processes that's getting analyzed and sent to probably hundreds of sub-processors(advertisers, analytics, more so training data). And since we're not the customer, and we're in America, said AI company won't recognize us as valid complaintants to stop processing our data 🫠
We really need data privacy laws in the USA

I really need to find either a way to custom order some of this laser hologram film that can be applied to my own lenses, or a good cyber eye version, bonus if I can make them fit in a cooler frame... :neko_sunglasses:
Let me know if you see any around, only finding a few limited examples on Etsy and ebay

One of these other folks at work slid this across my desk and said we might be going with this soon. Just a quick look and I'm smelling a very sus new start up, very high endorsements and not even their through their first year, very sleek website without a lot of substance. Has anyone else used the service for replacing MDM and device configuration management in the Enterprise?

I think I'm just going to make sure they're fully charged, reset the ones that boot up, and take them to the phone exchange kiosk for some money.
They're also old and out of date I'm not even sure I'll get cash for them, but at least they'll get recycled right?

The Samsung S3 and Note 5 do not charge :battery_broken:
The Huewei devices... I don't think ever had any kind of ROM support
The Galaxy j3 never had support
I guess next I get to check the S5 and S7 edge for usability and rpm support. I think these have bad batteries but these are from an era that they were removable

Obtain multiple power supplies from the parts bin for the mini PCS I picked up before the end of the year.
Time to get some infrastructure planned and built. I could probably configure some of these and mail it to friends or family to distribute said infrastructure :thinking_fidget:
